LOCKED AWAY: Lesson Plan to practise the second conditional  IF + past simple, WOULD/COULD + verb (base form)

  1. Speaking activity. Warm-up. Look at the pictures and try to guess the meaning of the expression "locked away" Imagine the situation/s in which a person might be locked away.

  2. Listen to the song twice (just the music - no video yet -) and fill in the gaps.

  3. Do the vocabulary exercise after correcting the missing words in the lyrics.

  4. Watch the official video clip (you can do it without sound if you prefer) and explain briefly the family situations portrayed in it. What do they all have in common?

  5. Once you have guessed the common topic, go to the blog entry HERE and leave your comment on it.

  6. Read the definition and complete it with the given words.

  7. Learn about the true story behind the song.

  8. FINAL TASK: Write an informal letter.
